At the beginning of 2012 I set goals for myself that I wanted to accomplish in a year. I wrote them down and taped them on the mirror so I could look at it every day.
They were MY goals which I needed to accomplish. They were not related to others so nobody could fail me. Why this was important to me was because I to believe that I can stand on my own without the dependence on others. Also, I guess that goals give some value in life...
One of my goals was to explore more with photography and read more books. I always had a thing for reading but I never took the time to do so. And I don't understand why, because every time I finish reading a book I get suck a thrill. Let it sound geeky and cliché but when I'm reading it does feel like I'm in a complete different world where nothing matters. Yes I realize that maybe I haven't read a high literature book, but lets be honest, is the requirement to happiness that you can only have a smart friend?
Another goal of mine was to explore more with photography. As a perfectionist, I used to be scared to use the camera because I was scared to make mistakes, but the truth is that you can only explore and get better by taking the chance and take a million shots, because there's always one good shot in between all the others. I guess that works for everything in life, don't be scared to take chances.
Here are some of my favourite shots I made so far:If you set goals make sure they are realistic. You can aim high, but only when you are sure you can accomplish the goal or if you don't beat yourself up if you don't accomplish your goal.
