The devil is in the detail

"One does a whole painting for one peach and people think just the opposite -- that particular peach is but a detail."
- Pablo Picasso

They say it's about the small things in life, small chances, small habits, focus on details, that make a difference. Now I totally agree with that, but I can't seem to figure out why.
Maybe it is because from a distance everything looks the same, but if you take the effort to discover what makes it so special and so different, you start appreciate it.
I guess this works with people too. Only if you take the effort to get to know them better and to have a closer look, you can find out what makes them so special.

I used to hate spider webs. To me they looked like a pile of dust left by a scary creature. Until I saw this image with my own eyes. This image shows every single line of the web so clearly and shows what a beautiful complex thing this small 'scary' creature can design. It left me with amazement and appreciation.

It's really the detail that counts, and if you open your eyes, you can find it.

  5. I love the look of a spider web in the snow - I usually hate them too but the little icicles and dew drops add beauty to it
